As if I did't have enough stuff to keep me busy, I decided to not only learn how to build webpages, but to also build my own site. Sometimes I think I may have bit off a lil more than I can safely chew, but as always, it'll be an adventure I'm sure.

Me? I'm a 23 year old college student right now trying for a degree in business administration along with an associates in journalism. Along with that comes my rather extensive skills and hobbies list, as I'm skilled in concrete construction, carpentry, electrical, landscaping, retaining wall construction, decorative concrete, mechanic skills, and more. Add to that a lengthy list of hobbies including offroading, mountain biking, paintball, photography, writing, and more. But enough about me, you came here for my site content, not a discussion about me, I'm sure.

I built this site originally as a way to just work on building my sitebuilding skills. As it turns out, the main page made a couple agonizing changes. The first version was build mostly from learning HTML coding, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it and I couldn't make HTML code do what I wanted to do with it (or at least not with my skill level). So I scrapped it in favor of using a page blank in Dreamweaver an building mostly in the design mode, but that gave me fits when I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted, so it became back to the drawing board until I stumbled across a page blank using XML with CSS that fit the bill nicely. So armed with a design I liked, I let the site begin to sprawl like my hobbies.

Automotive

What originally started as a mild interest became a full blown passion. The original purchase of one truck turned into five trucks, and with the growth of the garage, a need for mechanic skills was realized. Somewhere in between a desire to create things to set my vehicles apart from the pack came into being. Since I love working with my hands, all these things turned out to go hand in hand. The original truck has undergone several twists and turns as the struggle to make a unique vehicle that could also continue to serve in it's original designed role took shape. For the longest time I went back and forth on the idea of both lifting and lowering the first truck, now it's looking like a two inch lift to the front will be as much of a change from stock that the suspension is going to see for quite awhile, as it serves me best at that height.

But since the original truck wasn't enough for my growing passion, more vehicles were added to the garage under various circumstances. With each one new mechanic skills were needed to get them fixed up, and thus came the mechanic side of things. With both customization and mechanic aspects, coupled with an engineering mind, some interesting ideas have spawned. Stick around and I'll share some of them.

Photography and writing

Photography became an interest in high school where it was discovered that I have a bit of a natural eye for composing a "good" photo and has resulted in a number of great photos being taken. Most notably was one of a cat on a truck tire, of which my poster sized print was stolen for a few months from a school art display and finally mysteriously returned. The thing about the picture was not just the composition, but the fact that I only saw the cat and the truck together once, because neither of them were owned by anyone I knew. The photo was actually taken on a used car lot.

Perhaps a longer held passion was for writing and photography. I've always held a knack for writing as any course involving lots of writing (ie, english) has resulted in an easy A grade. Even at that, I'm always working to improve my writing skills and any constructive criticism on any of my writing is welcome. My ability to write poetry has come more recently and the poems written have come at times where I have been motivated to write a particular poem.
